noun
a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being (regarded as a defining characteristic of Danish culture).
How to Achieve that cozy, Scandinavia feel in the bedroom.
For those who don’t know, Hygge is all the rage right now - but when it comes down to it, Hygge is a feeling more than a specific design style, and it’s all about creating that welcoming, warming and comforting environment.
In this series on our blog, we are going to take you room by room and share tips and tricks on how you can bring Hygge into your spaces. Some tips may overlap but there will be different elements we share that you can add to each space in order to create that Hygge feeling.
First up, the bedroom!
A low profile bed is a great way to create that cozy feeling in the bedroom.
Lot’s of layered blankets on the bed and varying textures!
Bring in warm wood tones through dressers, night tables or wall accents
Plants! A lot of people skip plants in the bedroom but for us, they are a must! Opt for air purifying options like the Lady Palm, Crispy Wave, Boston Fern or Spider Plant. These are all pet-friendly options as well, so no need to worry about your furry little friends!
Add a textured rug! A lot of people skip a rug in the bedroom but it is a great addition to the space. It adds comfort and warmth, while muffling sound and grounding the room.
Add soft lighting and different task lighting options.
Candles! Scent is so important in creating a calm, comfortable living environment. Opt for something soothing and not too overpowering.
