Heer’s our history
In the fall of 1955, Clarence Heer opened the doors to “Heer’s Paint Service” in Kitchener Ontario, creating what would become his family’s legacy to the entire region.
Fuelled by Clarence’s dedication to quality products and customer service, the business soon enjoyed a growing and loyal customer base, thriving to become a Kitchener fixture.
Heer’s continued to grow into the harvest gold and avocado green days of the 1970s, opening a new, dedicated commercial facility located at 330 Gage Avenue, Kitchener. This location was the first of its kind in the region and was developed to specifically service Heer’s growing and loyal painting contractors, commercial and industrial clients. Heer’s also continued to grow it’s retail business as well, opening another full service paint and decorating center at 245 Edinburgh Road, in Guelph and another decorating centre at 583 King St. North, in Waterloo.

Since its start in 1955, Heer’s has evolved into one business with three different focuses. Firstly, a full decorating store for the do-it-yourselfer by providing quality decorating products at competitive prices. Secondly, Heer’s caters to its commercial clients by offering a full range of commercial industrial products ranging from conventional paints to high tech coatings to spray equipment. Thirdly, Heer’s offers a complete range of commercial and residential Interior Design Services. Assisting clients through all aspects of design, including colour, custom window treatments, floor coverings, paint and wallpaper selection, custom furniture, everything right down to the selection of artwork and accessories.
Today, Heer’s Paint & Décor is an ever present local fixture, not only in Kitchener, but Guelph and Waterloo as well. Welcoming loyal customers including the grandchildren of Heer’s first clients, Heer’s has grown with and in the community, providing the same high level customer service and excellent products that they have always been known for.
