Designing a nursery is always fun but there are a few things to think about. The most important thing to consider is paint colour. When deciding on colour selections it is important to pick colours that will be beneficial for the baby. A babies brain is truly a blank canvas and colours stimulate their brains differently. The psychological part of colour is very important for a baby and their brain development.

Green and Blue are great ideas for babies rooms. Green is great because it can be very gender neutral. Green is a very soothing and nurturing colour that gives the feeling of security and peace. Even though Blue is associated usually with baby boys rooms, it can be done nicely for girls rooms as well. Blue is a soothing colour that is great for preparing to sleep. Stick to light blues and avoid deep and bright blues. Blue also makes a room feel cooler which is great for babies who get warm. Our Benjamin Moore recommendations for Green and Blue are; Croquet AF-455 and Serenata AF-535

When deciding on paint colours there are options you should also avoid. You typically want to avoid bright colours. Many people associate Yellow as happy- which it is but it is not a great option for a babies room. Yellow can cause issues with sleeping and may agitate the baby. Another very obvious colour to avoid is Red. Red is a bold colour that is typically associated with aggression.

Colour selection can be very stressful but decorating a nursery should be fun! Hopefully these tips can help make both you and your baby happy.
